Keep Moving Forward

Fiona

poem: keep moving forward

Three years have passed,

yet the memories still last.

"Time heals all wounds", they say,

but nothing ever really goes away.

The needle pricks fade, hair grows back,

my body no longer feels under attack.

I try not to dwell in sorrow,

"make the most of life", look ahead to tomorrow.

Worry sets in when I feel a brief pain,

many feelings rush back every now and again.

I am in the “light at the end of the tunnel”,

although there are days that I continue to struggle.

The path to recovery never truly ends,

I have tried to make sense and comprehend.

But there is "no answer", I have heard,

all I can do is keep moving forward.
